#MUZICSANONYMOUS: Indea Nikole

WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM TO BRING YOU THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

Happy Thursday, my music brutes. I know we’re supposed to go into the vault today, but my heart, and more importantly my ears, decided to share something a little better than an album you probably already know every word to.

You all know I love music and I love women, but I think I love the combination of the two just a bit more. The magic that is ignited inside of your soul when you hear that femininity ring throughout your ears is just too good of an experience to not hold inside of you.

So, who has so distinctly caught the ear of MelodyCritic now? A woman who resonates with a butterfly and truth be told I couldn’t agree more because her music made a bitch feel like she was floating through a garden!

I want to introduce you all to Indea Nikole, she is an artist based out of the midwest, St. Louis, Missouri to be exact, and has been writing music since she was just 12 years old. In 2016, she dropped her first EP, Metamorphosis, which is 7 tracks of pure enlightenment. She has been deeply impacted by Jhene Aiko, Erykah Badu and even Young Thug. These icons alone have had a huge influence on most of her sound and trap that transformed itself into R&B and soul has never sounded so alluring.

Today, Indea dropped her well-anticipated single, Pretty Little Stoner, and it was nothing short of…pretty. From beginning to end it made me feel like I was trapped inside a rose without actually feeling trapped, but instead feeling free. Though, the lyricism is homely, the aura of it brings convolution. I just wanna say…for all my fellow peers that have ever felt like Mary Jane was the only “person” they could tell all their problems to, this is probably the song for you.

Just kidding.

Not really.

Go listen. Right now! Then, go find a butterfly and kiss it.
